Making Glassware Process
Jun. 13, 2024
In the raw material preparation stage, high-quality quartz sand, soda ash, limestone, and other main raw materials are selected and mixed evenly according to precise proportions. This is the basis for ensuring the quality of glassware, and each raw material plays a key role in subsequent melting and forming processes.
At the melting stage, the prepared raw materials are put into the furnace and melted at a high temperature of approximately 1500 °C. During this process, it is necessary to remove bubbles from the glassware liquid by adding clarifying agents and using convection and diffusion to make the components more uniform, forming a uniform and pure glassware liquid.
During the molding stage, workers dip an appropriate amount of glassware liquid into a blowing tube and gradually shape the glassware liquid into a shape in the mold or in a mold-free state through blowing, rotating, and other operations. Pour the glassware liquid into a specific mold, apply pressure with a press, and fill the mold cavity with the glassware liquid to press it into shape. The formed glassware needs to be placed in an annealing kiln and slowly cooled down to eliminate internal stress caused by rapid prototyping and enhance the strength and stability of the glassware.
According to the requirements, perform cutting, grinding, coating, decal, and other decorative operations on glassware to achieve their final use and aesthetic requirements.
